Qualitative composition and description of all individual materials

7.2.1 Cotton / organic cotton


Indications:If organic cotton is uded and consequently is declared additional a valid certificate has to be submitted which proves the bio/organic origin and the not-usage of genetically modified organisms (GMO). At the cotton fibres/materials additionally a special laboratory test is performed mandatory which has to confirm too that no genetic modifications are detectable. This procedure applies for both materials made of 100% organic cotton and also for mixtures of organic cotton with other materials (except mixtures of organic cotton with conventional and GV cotton; see above)

7.2.2 Use chrome-gree and metal-free tanned leather terminology


Indications: If the applicant wants to have the terms "chrome-free tanned leather" and/or "metal-free tanned leather" mentionned in the scope of the certificate the following requirements need to be fulfilled:

  • The definition of chrome-free tanned leather and/or "metal-gree tanned leather" according to ISO 15115 (2019) has been considered in tanning process and fulfills the requirements of 3.20 and 3.57 of the ISO 15115 (2019) repectively.
  • And additional lab test for proof shall be performed and the according limit values can be found in Annex 4
